Over 30 crowd will get this

One of my cousins sent this to me in a email and I thought it was Hilarious. I tried to give you a "clean version". Enjoy all of you over 30 crowd.... :)

If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious.....

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking 25 miles to school every morning .. uphill BOTH ways

yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in heck I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that I'm over the ripe old age of 30, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a darn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have the Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the darn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!! There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter... with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3s or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the darn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids.' Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed!

Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no on screen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your butt and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning.

Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little people!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire... imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing and shake it over the stove forever like an idiot.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

Regards,
The over 30 Crowd

Jesus wants me for a

SUNBEAM TEACHER!!!!!! I don't think I am really thrilled about this yet. I need to let it soak in and think of ways to keep the kids attention. If you have any ideas I would be really grateful.

John got called to be Sunday School Prez. He loves Sunday school so he will enjoy this. He had this calling in our ward in CO too until he was called at the gospel doctrine class the he enjoyed even more.

We also got asked to both give talks next week on "The Law of Consecration" .... uuhh OK. That's all we got. We can divide up what we want to talk about between us. I made sure I was speaking before John as he can talk for a long time. I think I should just introduce our family and sit down and let him do the rest. What do you think? lol.

About time......

We had a ward "CARNIVAL and DANCE" tonight. It really was a lot of fun. The "purpose" of the carnival was to see if you were able to get more tickets or spend all your tickets then you went to different rooms. We all made it to the celestial kingdom but 1 in our family, boo hoo. But she had tons of fun playing with her friend the bishops daugher... Anyway, at the carnival Johns was asked by the 1st counselor in the bishopbric if he and his wife could come in 15 minutes earlier before church tomorrow. I will already be there as choir is at 12pm. What is the first counselor over again? Is it the same in everyward? I guess we shall find out tomorrow.

Stay tuned......

Did you notice new background???

Yes SCHOOL is back in Session on MONDAY. That means I only have 1 more day of sleeping in. Starting Monday the kids (AN and DM) have to be at the bus stop at 6:40ish in the am and wont be back home until about 3pm. I am SOOO ready for them to go back to school. I need to find stuff for AJ to do now too. I might look into a preschool for him to.

We had a playgroup today back at the splash pad. I took pictures but haven't downloaded them yet. I will try to tonight. JR was really brave in getting in the water this time. Maybe because he is walking more now and wont get stuck in the water.

The kids get to meet their teachers and see their classrooms tomorrow. AN couldn't be more excited. She has been asking for homework for a month now. Every time we went to school to fill out papers she asked if she would have homework that day. She also lost her 5th tooth last night. Yes people she is almost 9 years old and has only lost 5 teeth. She didn't loose ANY until the last week of 1st grade. Then it was all 4 front teeth with in a month. She so cute. Even writes letters to the tooth fairy and asks questions. This time it was "what do you do with all the teeth and do you live in a castle?" I got to approve the letter before she put her tooth in the bag with it. That's why I know the questions. *wink*wink*

Anyway, i think we are all ready to start off this new year and hope your kids have a awesome year too.

BELLA & EDWARD WITHDRAWLS.......

I finished the second book today. It was nice. I got to spend my birthday on the couch just reading. I read the WHOLE book. I dont think I have ever done that before. You guys were right. Once you get into the book you cant put it down. Well I DONT HAVE BOOK 3 -- ECLIPSE. I went crazy tonight trying to find it. Wally world didnt have it at all. They had the 2nd and 4th but not the 3rd.

I would have called my Sister in Law Teresa but its 11:30 at night. I dont think she would appreciate that. (by the way T. im done with #2 if scott wants it now). Yes ladies. My BIL is reading it too. Guess I will go on the hunt tomorrow. What am I going to do. Maybe get my laundry done, kids fed, house cleaned, etc. I might pay more attention to the kids tomorrow. They were fine today. AN did a great job taking care of the little boys so I could finish the book.

Other than reading I had a great day today. John and I went out to Texas Land and Cattle for dinner. I have wanted to go there since we moved here but we didnt want to take ALL the family. They are a little pricy. It was nice. They had a "all you can eat steak" on Monday nights. It was really yummy. And we saw the kids eat FREE on saturday afternoons. We figured out how we can afford to take the kids on saturday now.

Guess I will sleep now. Until tomorrows journeys.

I FINISHED!!!!

Can you believe it I finally finshed reading TWILIGHT. It only took me a month. Really a Day. I started way back when we started our trek to our new home but didnt get very far. I have been reading a page here and there until last night when I had a GIRLS NIGHT OUT with my new ward sisters.

We had a ton of fun. We went to chili's then over to Borders to get the new released Breaking dawn. Well our numbers were in the 370's to get the new book. I have NEVER see a book store so crowded. It was insane. My friend were all wearing "TEAM EDWARD,,, BITE ME" shirts. They were really cute. Some of the "little girls" at the book store amazed me. They were all dressed up and everything. At the time of going to Borders yesterday I had only gotten to chapter 10. Just after Bella's trip to Port Charles. So I didnt really know a lot about what my friends were talking about. We decided to leave Borders about 11 and go wait at walmart where the line would not be as long. They didnt even set up until about 11:45 and then we were there with maybe 5 other crazy people. Line much much shorter than Borders would have been.

I started to read the book again this morning and I finished about 10 minutes ago. Inbetween reading we went to Chili's again for birthday lunch for me a robin. I love this book. Good thing I picked up New moon yesterday too.

Well I was just so proud of my self I had to let you know I finished. Now off to NEW MOON. :)
