Mom, Dave milestones

Update on my mom. She got her test results back and she is doing fine. Still no symptoms.

I just heard that the PET scan came back OK. This means the changes on the CA 125 are still microscopic so they will check me every 3 months and monitor for the changes. It could be a year or more before the levels are high enough to warrant chemo or I have any physical changes. They would rather wait to do chemo as the damage of the chemicals to the body make it worth waiting or something like that so that is good news. Thanks for your concern and prayers, it took a lot of testing to come to this conclusion so I feel good about the recommendations.

We just hope her levels don't go up any more and they stay microscopic. We want Grandma to stay around for a while longer!!! I'm glad your OK mom. I love you.

David finally lost a tooth. I guess it was earlier than Alicia. She waited for the last week of 1st grade to do that plus she was already 7 almost 8. David is 6 and middle of first grade. He came home Monday to show me but wouldn't let me touch it in fear of me pulling it out. I told him it would only hurt for a little bit. He didn't believe me. Well Wednesday we were in the car waiting for Alicia to get out of choir and I looked at it again. He had another tooth ready to come in behind it. If you look closely you can see it. I told him I just wanted to feel the tooth behind and my finger just "happened" to push down the first one. He grabbed a paper towel and pulled it out. "That's it. It didn't hurt at all". Hopefully now he wont be so scared when the next one comes out.

Dave also had is first pinewood derby on Saturday. His car did pretty well. He didn't place anywhere put his car did make 2nd a 3rd a few times so he was happy with that. He was a little upset when they were doing award because he didn't get any. He was happy when he got his medal. All the kids got one of these.
His den leader made these cool little trophies for the boys to keep their cars on. They drilled a hole in the bottom of the car so they can still take them off if they wanted to and David does and likes to play with it. It has their "drivers license" glued on them. He did have a fun time at the races.

Trip back to CALI

***LONG POST AHEAD******
Was a fabulous time. We had the chance to see so many family and friends. It was like driving home when we were coming into town, i loved it. I knew right were everything was at. I went by my old house and it looked so different. I was glad that my neighbor still lived in her house. I got to visit with her and her dad for lunch on monday.

Jenny's fiance

After we arrived really late Friday night we insanely decided to go to disneyland on saturday. Here are some of my favorite pictures.

Nana, christi, grecia, alicia in pink cup

Davids favorite ride.

Nana and grecia

Before entering the park
On Monday Austin turned 3 years old. While we were out eating lunch with my neighbor he got sung to at a cool place we went to eat. He got to wear this cool had for a little bit and so the other kids had to have a turn wearing the hat.

Monday night was GG's view and the kids handled it really well. Austin kept mentioning that GG was sleeping because she is dead. Im not really sure how much he understands but i think they did pretty well. The little boys only lasted a little bit so of course we had to leave. And were did we go..... DEWARS of course. I love that place. After we got home and after Nana and Papa got home we then went out to ROSEMARY's Creamery. I love getting my Karee's Hot fudge banana. I think we hit all our favorites while we were there.
The service on Tuesday went fairly well. It was a grave side so it was pretty cool outside and no micophone which Im thankful for. When we first arrived, Papa and his brother asked me if I could sing Wind beneath my wings occapella. SURE NO PROBLEM. Well it didnt really come out that way. I could barely sing the words until the very end I finally got enough voice to sing the Fly fly fly away so high i amost touch the sky, thank you, thank you, thank god for you the wind beneath my wings. I think the rest of the song was pretty much a sobbing singing part. Papa apologized to me afterward for the way it affected me. Im glad I did it though. Now I can understand why you get a non family member to sing. WHEW made it through.

After that was all done we were able to have a few friends over. Russ and Willow and thier kids and Jen W and Olivia were able to come over. Austin pretty much attached himself to miss Olivia and it was so cute. I brought our Wii for the kids (big and small) to have something to do while we were in GG's house. It got a lot of use. I have lots of records now that need to be broken. HE HE HE

The following pictures say it all. We were laughing all the way thru.

Olivia was giving Austin Kiss on cheek and he gave a big hug to her neck.

And the photo queen didnt bring HER camera. Whats up with that jen???

Bye GG. We will miss you

GG didnt make it through the night. She died just after 10 pm in California last night. She held on for a few hours after being off any machines. Last I heard my FIL is trying to schedule the funeral for Saturday. Unfortunatly we might not be able to make it. John has stuff that has to be done for work and turned in today. Its a long drive. About 3000 round trip. A long ways to go for one day. I would really like to come down but we will see. I will let you know Jen if we do make it. I would love to see you.

The call we didn't want..

but we were expecting it. John just got a call from his parents and there was not brain activity for his grandmother. She has requested no help and will have the respirator turned off at 8 am tomorrow morning. She could go right away or she could hang on for a while. Either way she will only be give morphine for the pain if she has any.

At this point, she is alreay gone, hopefully having a sweet reunion with her husband. She has lived a long and healthy life. Just in the few last years she has begging to not be as strong. We are so grateful for the time that we have had with her and her knowing our kids or my kids having the chance to know their Great Grandma. She was able to meet all but Joshua which saddens me but I know now she will be able to watch over all of us.

I guess we - John for sure - will be coming to Cali sooner than we planned. I really feel like we need to come and say our goodbyes. She was a great lady and our last link to all our friends back home in California. I guess we really dont have anymore ties there besides our friends now. I want you all to know how much we love you and miss you all. I have grown up with many of you, and some just know from the awesome Kern River ward and have been able to reconnect through this great blog world or Facebook world. I have truly enjoyed learning about your families and you mine.

I will let you know when we know for sure what the timing will be. Soon though. Im looking forward to seeing you if we can. Call me or email me #'s so I can call when I get in town. Im sure we wont be there very long. Maybe only a couple days at the most.

PRAYERS PLEASE

My sister in law got this up first so here ya go. We thought we would have a fun day at Sea World when we found out about Johns grandma. His parents rightly so left early while we stayed. They are there with her now.

We found out this afternoon that Robert's Grandmother suffered an aneurysm and is in the hospital. At the moment, she is in surgery. The doctors are trying to stop the bleeding in her brain, but they are not very hopeful of success. My parents in law are getting on a plane to join her and Robert's uncle. We don't really expect her to last much longer, but if our friends who are so inclined would please pray for Laura Ford and for the family, we'd appreciate it. Thanks. We'll keep you posted as we get more information.

She is out of surgery and resting. As of 11 last night she was not awake but was out of surgery and still alive. I hope she will be able to wake up and know who everyone is. Maybe now she will now come out to live here where we are all around her. Nancy has been trying to get her not to live by herself and maybe this is what she needed. We will let you know when I get more info. We might be coming to bakersfield soon than we planned.
